Inspiring athletes to reach their full potential.

Coach Cliff Scott
Coach Cliff Scott is a veteran of the United States Navy. He started Speed City in 1996 in San Jose, CA because he wanted to be a solution in the community for kids to have an option to do something positive. Over the course of 20 years, Speed City has evolved from San Jose to Los Angeles, to it's current location in San Antonio, TX. The track club has enjoyed a reputation for producing fine athletes in a variety of sports.

Coach Cliff is a USATF Level 1 Coach. His coaching philosophy is based on 400 meter training. Teaching the kids to run the full track first to build strength and endurance which ultimately leads to speed.
Throughout the years, many athletes of Speed City have gone on to run at local colleges and universities, with one athlete, Aaron Williams (defensive back), playing for the Buffalo Bills professional football team.
About the Team
Speed City Elite is a highly competitive - not recreational - track club. Our athletes train year round 3-4 days a week. Hard work is the key to the team's success.

Currently, Speed City holds the USATF National and Junior Olympic record in the 10 and under boys 4 x 400 meter relay. We have held that record since 2000. Speed City also held the USATF Junior Olympic and National record in the midget boys 4 x 800 meter relay in 2002.
